La Villetta - Maidstone

I recently celebrated my birthday at La Villeta with a group of 5 children and 6 adults. The food, as always, was outstanding, as was the service. The staff at the restaurant were very accommodating to our various dietary needs and were extremely friendly towards the children.

My partner and I have been to La Viletta several times now and have had incredible food and service every time. Unfortunately, our experience on 17th February was not as positive. This was our first Valentines meal together and we had been excited to go somewhere where we knew the food and service was amazing, however this was not the case for our most recent visit. Our drinks order was taken and we requested water for the table which did not arrive and we had to chase this up. All other tables had valentines decoration and a lit candle other than ours which was just a shame. Within the first half hour we had received our drinks and starters which were lovely. However, we then waited 90 minutes and had no main course brought to us. We raised this to the manager who said ‘it’s on its way’. We again waited further with no mains brought and no check in to us. By this time, it was 10pm and we were understandably very hungry. We decided to leave the restaurant and pay for what we had so far. The waitress was apologetic and again the manager came over to ask us if we were sure we wanted to leave to which we said yes. No apology was given, however she said she would speak to the kitchen. She asked the waitress to reduce our bill slightly however I do not believe this was done as we still paid £50 for our starters and wine. I am not sure if it was a staffing or kitchen issue; but it was a very unfortunate evening as usually we have a great experience here. Just a shame.

Fantastic restaurant! First time I’ve been here. What looks like a family run Italian restaurant, the food is authentic and absolutely delicious, good variety of food, beer and wine. Would 100% come back here.

The food was delicious and well presented. Staff were friendly and the service was very good. We will definitely visit again.

Second time visiting this restaurant. Both times have been outstanding, exceptional food, service and atmosphere. Staff very friendly and welcoming too which makes such a difference these days. We had a perfect evening and can’t wait to come back again.
