Polanco Modern Mexican Steakhouse Dtla

I liked the food, the waiter is great in terms of memory and kindness but he talks away, and describes a bunch of unnecessary details, my cocktail de sunrise something was basically a smoothie I ordered a second shot of alcohol and not even got to alcoholic beverage I think the problem is the proportions. The dessert, wow, I think it was flan but it was almsot a cheesecake with a cookie smashed on the sides, it was the least delicious flan I've ever tried. The short ribs were amazing and the restaurant has a charm for its infrastructure. Advise, the host table is too beautiful to hang a bunch of sprays and dirty cloths. Again just an opinion, oh and the chairs are very weak. They should be a little firmer, i tried changing mine and it was still a little loose.

EDIT: Sami and the crew are gone. Place no longer what it was. This place is the bomb. Came in with my Mom for cocktails. The manager (Sami) was super welcoming. The drinks are amazing and the staff are awesome. Always assumed it was empty because they don’t seat people downstairs until upstairs is full for some reason. Looking forward to returning, DTLA gem.

It was our first time dinning in Polanco. We were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and this restaurant for us was just what we were looking for dark/romantic and the service surpassed our expectations! I highly recommend Polanco

The food was excellent and the staff very nice and eager.
