Idlewyld Inn Restaurant - London

First time dining here. We were celebrating an anniversary. Had a great table and the service was excellent. The food was incredible!!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a fine dining experience.

This restaurant is the dining room for the inn so it is not very large, but the area in which we were sitting was perfect for us.We went with two other couples for a Christmas brunch, and we all thought our waitress was exceptional. The food was very good; however, even though it was on the menu and we enjoyed it when we visited previously, the buffet was not available. That was our only disappointment.

My Sister was visiting from New Brunswick for Christmas and my goal was to host her at an interesting off the beaten path location for dinner. The historic building and service did not disappoint. My only negative feedback was my Pork Chop entree was very tough; it took all my strength to cut into it. Jennifer , our server, was very apologetic and quickly replaced it with Beef Tenderloin cooked to expectations. My sister enjoyed her Salmon entree but was puzzled by the deep fried chopped beet selection. She found the Salmon tasty and would order it again. I have attended business events at The Idlewyld in the past and have been generally impressed with the food and service. I grew up in the restaurant business and know how unfortunate it can be to not get timely and reliable feedback on a particular meal, event or service. Despite what may be perceived as a negative report on our recent visit, I will be back.

I'm a lover of liver and I can say that the calves liver was amazing . It was cooked to perfection . I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone who likes offal. My husband had the French onion soup and he thoroughly enjoyed it . His fish and chips were delicious . They stayed hot right to the end of his meal . The service was outstanding . A wonderful anniversary lunch . Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant

Great restaurant for a special dinner or get together!! Love the fact you don't have to yell to talk across the table!! Too many newer places are tile granite and glass which reflects the noise. Ambiance was fabulous and menu lovely.
