Very fresh seafood! beautiful service and good location before they go to the boat after sardinia
Food absolutely fresh and delicious. I dined here with my husband and two small kids after a 4hour ferry ride from Corsica France. I ate only fish dishes. My appetitzer was smoked salmon and tuna with some vegetables. It was soo good, my husband had the mixed appettizer which was also fresh and even better than my smoked fish. We drank a bottle of rose champagne which I was initially apprehensive to try but ultimately it was very good. My kids shared a plate of pasta con ragu and a Fanta. I then had a second dish of taglionini with half a male lobster. It was out of this world good. No words can describe.... my husband had the caciucco which I didn’t try. I then had a digestive called “sgrippino which was fresh and slightly sweet and my husband the hot punch. I didn’t feel the alcohol until after all was said and done. Our bill was €120... we were then offered another free digestive.... which I accepted ofcourse. Ultimately I had a great experience here (even though we were sitted next to a table of maybe 10 men who were celebrating something and speaking loudly). They helped create a relax environment....The servers are great! Atmosphere authentic and price acceptable. Oh! We also had a bottle of water..... if only to clear our conscience
After a long day working found La Lupa opere until very late a night and stopped here to have a caciucco. The very welcoming staff informed me it would have taken 30 min to prepare it, so I waited but it was absolutely worthed! I enjoyed the big portion of the best caciucco ever had! I would recommend!!
After visiting the Tower of Pisa, we thankfully decided to skip the tourist trap restaurants around the attraction and instead drove 20 minutes to Livorno. It's just a fishing town, but it's where we had THE BEST meal of our entire tour of Italy! La Lupa, a family business now run by a brother and two sisters was bursting with hospitality, tradition, and warmth. And ohmigod the seafood!!!!! Screaming fresh and lovingly prepared. They have a mixed seafood stew with 5c's in the name that is one of the BEST meals I've ever had, period. (And I've had my share of fancy business dinners all over the world. And the prices were on par with what I'd paid at crummy pizza joints in more touristic areas! This place was a hands down gem. Definitely look forward to making my way there again!
