Although I typically do not leave negative reviews or complain, my experience at The Retreat left much to be desired. I was excited to take advantage of the beautiful weather and sit outside. We sat down and were told our server would be over shortly, 20 minutes later we still hadn’t seen anyone. We were frustrated, especially since other tables who arrived after us were being greeted and served. Several staff members passed us, never acknowledging our presence. Eventually, we had to flag down someone passing by to ask if we could order, not even knowing who our server was at this point. When our server finally appeared, they explained that they didn't come over to take our drink order because we were waiting for someone in our group. We weren’t sure why that would matter as we didn’t have anything yet and were just looking to order drinks and appetizers. When our friend did arrive, the server made a rude comment that was both strange and unprofessional. Though the drinks and food were satisfactory, the subpar service greatly detracted from our overall experience.
