Whenever I have the opportunity, I always make a point to visit the Free State. They have the best wings in town and a fantastic variety of craft beers. A visit here is definitely worth it!

I would like to thank Kate and the staff at Free State Kitchen for the amazing Thanksgiving dinner last month. As an American visiting England, it was a special experience to celebrate my favorite holiday with a delicious mid-day feast. Free State Kitchen had everything needed for a perfect Thanksgiving, from the starter plates of bread, cheese, apples, and pumpkin soup, to the main course of turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, sweet squash, green beans, and, of course, endless gravy that took us all into food heaven. The pecan pie with cream for dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. Liverpool is fortunate to have a restaurant like Free State Kitchen, and I look forward to returning whenever I am in town.

A couple of my friends and I paid a visit to the wonderful Free State Kitchen in the late afternoon on a quest for burgers, beers and a wonderful outdoor seating area, a luxury that's few and far between in the city. The food was fairly overpriced causing my friend and I to split a burger and then for our gang to relocate to a different eatery for pudding but the food was really delicious. I opted for a bacon, bbq sauce, red onion and cheese burger and didn't find it too heavy in the slightest and the gin and elderflower tonic was extremely yummy. The beer garden was fabulous, sophisticated and thankfully not in the shade (a feature that restaurant and pub owners seem to forget about sometimes when first establishing their business). All in all, I would definitely go back but for a lazy day with your friends in the sunshine, it's just a little too pricey for me to stay all day.
