Suba - Lisbon

What an incredible restaurant. eat them divine. contempt, care and friendly service of exceptional women who made my birthday surprise completely unforgettable. great point of view over the river tagus. small sample of snapshots to give them a look into this superduper eating experience.

Unfortunately, Suba disappointed. We were excited for the hype of the restaurant but it fell flat. Service and ambiance was great but food and drinks subpar. Started With an old fashioned which was completely watered down with ice cubesZ. The martinis and wine has very weak pours. For the food we had the scallop and shrimp apperizer, this was the full a’La carts appetizer which came with a very small single scallop and hardly a piece of shrimp. Totally underwhelming. Then we had roasted duck with MAYBE .5 ounces of duck, definitely not worth ordering and lack of flavor. The veal at the end was incredible but by the time we got it, our impressions of the meal was ruined. The tiramisu completely wasn’t as it should be.!it’s “our version of tiramisu which is nothing like tiramisu, had a berry compote, with no cake, on a hard egg shell, wasn’t what we expected or wanted to eat at the end of a subpar meal. Won’t be coming back, all hype that fell flat.

On this one-week gourmet dining experience trip to Portugal, our first two restaurants were Two Michelin-star restaurants. At Alma we were on the waiting list and this did not work out well so we decided to have dinner at our wonderful hotel's restaurant, Suba. Amazingly great service and super creative delicious food. Plus fantastic rooftop view. Today we were at Belcanto, the most charming high vault ceiling, century-old location. Extremely professional staff, however food wise disappointed. Definitely no better than Suba (but double the price. Looking forward to Yeatman in Porto. Their two Michelin-star Gourmet restaurant is truly a lifetime experience!

The place is small but with a nice vibe to it. The staff is extremely polite and helpful! And, the food is very good, too. I had the best octopus there as part of their Christmas Eve set menu. They also have a rooftop bar with an amazing view of the city.
