Tartan - Linville

And absolute must for breakfast. Good pricing and when you are finished with their excellent meal there is a very interesting little shop to walk through before you head up Grandfater Mtn! Highly recommended!!!

We went to tartan all three tomorrow we were close to linville and the breakfast was excellent – perfectly cooked egg, crispy speck and hash brown, decent biscuits and large coffee. the cost of eating in the waffle house were just much better. but the real surprise was lunch: I ordered fried rainbow trout and received 3 large beautiful fried filets. Beyond that I have 3 pages of my choice: turnip greens (cooked the southern away with pork and a lot of top-flavored, pinto bor and swede. we also received both small dishes of the Chow-Chow, whose same I had not had since my childhood. our dinners consisted of an enormous amount of food at a small diner price. everything was homemade and fresh, and I noticed every time we went, the same locals seemed to be there (seen in the same sitting! that should tell you something.

Stopped with a friend while driving Blue Ridge Parkway. Menu was unbelievable. Could hardly decide When I finally did pick one it was generous and delicious. I will make it a point to go again if ever in the area.

Wonderful home cooked meals daily, great sandwiches, modest price, clean, clean could eat off of bathroom floors!!!!!

To top it off, we were served small dishes of chow-chow, which I haven't tasted since childhood—absolutely delicious! Our dinners were incredibly generous portions offered at a diner-friendly price. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, and I noticed that the same local patrons were there each time we visited, often sitting in the same spots. That speaks volumes about the quality of this place!
