Mezze House - Lincoln

We love this restaurant as a family and visit it often. Gabbie is fantastic! It may not be the most affordable option in town, but it's not the most expensive either. We always feel welcomed and never rushed, which leads us to spend more, especially on keo, othello, metrio and St John commandaria.

If you're in search of genuine Greek mezze, this is the spot to be. The staff always makes us feel like we're part of the family. Absolutely love it!

After living in Cyprus, my friends and I are always on the lookout for traditional Greek/Cypriot food and drinks back in the UK. We had reserved a table for 7:30pm last night and were surprised to find ourselves as the only customers. It's a shame more people weren't there because the food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was lovely, with Greek music playing in the background, and the menu was full of traditional dishes. We ordered two Gabbies Meze and one kleftiko for the five of us, and it was more than enough food. We brought our own alcohol since they don't have a liquor license yet, but we received a 10% discount on our bill. I was really looking forward to having an ice-cold Keo beer. They have a courtyard where you can enjoy a cigarette, and with the warm weather, it felt like we were in a cozy village tavern. The staff were also very hospitable. I highly recommend The Mezze House - what are you waiting for?

Went there with my husband for a meal. I can not understand how this place can be open for a public, their standard of hygiene is just below the minimum requirements. What you eat for what you pay is just ridiculous! The very loud owner recommend it to us tapas option so we thought we give a try. Our mezze starters were: hummus , potato with Greek yogurt and cream mushrooms were the only food that has any taste the rest was just a joke !!! two calamari each frozen stuff that has not been properly coked , 3 hard slices of sausage, looked very old and dry 100% from supermarket,tasteless rice, one plum tomato each and one chunk of raw pepper each LOL , all this accompanied by a basket of a pitta bread , raw inside , probably just heated in a microwave.And this is supposed to be a Greek restaurant !!!!???This place qualifies for a chef Ramsay Hell's Kitchen makeover.We have chosen the meaty option but there was hardly any meat or fish there. When we finished with our starters the waiter/owner picked up the bread from the basket with his bare hands and moved in to our plate saying to us we should keep it for later absolutely disgusting!!! Then arrived the main. As we went for a set deal option( £21 pp) we did not know what we will get. So here it comes . Two plates First one with God knows what it was, a piece of a moussaka I think, hard as rock , hardly warm inside( with a high risk of catching a dangerous bacteria) accompanied by iceberg lettuce with chopped tomatoes &cucumber and cold rice absolutely tasteless. Second one with piece of Lamb shank what in my opinion was a pork accompanied withe the same rice and lettuce. For dessert cheap ice cream with some kind of a hard Turkish or Greek ?? biscuit absolute nightmare. Then we asked for a bill and been told to come and pay at the till as its easier.Howe rude! So the owner who host us all night was a waiter , a chef and handling a money all in one. Waiting there for my husband to pay I turned my head towards the kitchen and saw a man just picking a food from the plate. He was dressed casuals , I don't even think there is a chef in this place as been in there for a few hours and no sign of a real chef. JUST felt so awkward dining there, disgusting food and horrible service. This place should be closed. No standards in there whatsoever. I usually don't leave a revives if I am not happy with a food or service but this place is just Ridiculous.

We decided to try Mezze with friends having heard of recent good reviews. We were somewhat unsure of what to expect as there was no website with menu however were not disappointed. The waiter was funny and made us feel at home. We all opted for the Mezze choice meaning we would didn't really know what we were getting but that didn't matter as the food was excellent and each course was served in a relaxed manner. In total we were there for 3 hours but it felt like we were eating at someone's house due to the relaxed manner. I would definitely go back with my children as it would appeal to all. A great restaurant with quality food and excellent service.
