Bidrage med feedbackElla Miller is the best cook we have ever had. We traveled 7 1/2 hours to visit our ancestors homeland in Lexington MS and fell in love with this place. The food was plentiful, tasty, fast and filling. All the sides were unbelievably delicious. The fried green potatoes, fried corn and candied yams were to die for. Parking was convenient and accessibility was met for my 85 year old mom. Ella went above and beyond and even walked us to our vehicle afterwards. If you live within 8 hours you should plan a trip to the Southern Barrel restaurant in Lexington, MS. We will be back. We Love you Ella Miller!!!
So we found ourself off the beaten path to find food. This place is a hidden gem. The food was great, everything from scratch nothing out of a can. The portions were large. If we ever travel back this way we would definitely stop by.
This restaurant was featured in Delta Magazine, and it truly lives up to the hype. The atmosphere feels like home, and the food is fantastic. It offers healthy, home-cooked Southern cuisine made with great care and plenty of love. There's a wide variety of dishes, and everything is served hot and in generous portions. The desserts are outstanding, and yes, they make them in-house too. I've tried nearly every restaurant in Lexington, and while I have a few go-to places that I visit repeatedly, many I don’t return to. When I’m in Lexington, I rarely consider eating anywhere else. The lunches are excellent, but you absolutely must try everything on the menu for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights at 500. If you ever miss out on the Southern Barrel, it's truly your own loss!

You can definitely tell when someone has a true passion for cooking. It shows in both the presentation and the flavor of the dishes. My family and I really enjoy the food, as well as the lovely woman who prepares these delightful meals. It's like having a home-cooked meal away from home – always a treat! Don’t just take my word for it; you should definitely give it a try.
