Simal Alm - Leogang

Beautiful view, cozy lounge. But steal arrogant man is ruining it! Lounge must be reserved. We asked inside and it was okay until the arrogant man approached us like a piesbull. Ridiculous...

We ordered three beers and a coffee. We were served quite fast for the first two beers but had to wait an age for the other beer and coffee. We were served by an older man who was not overly friendly, but it was good when we were more interested in our drinks. In the end, when we offered the 22 euros for our drinks, he asked where we are from. I thought maybe he's a friend, then we thought first. We told him we were from Scotland. His next question was: “Pay a service fee in Scotland”. We lied and said no, but we should have said that if the service was good. It's a bit much to have tips you need. It should be a reward for good service and a friendly attitude. It's a shame as it looked like a good restaurant. We wanted to go to lunch in the next few days, but we won't do it now.

A great place to have a break for coffee, drinks or lunch. Nice to sit both outdoors and Indoors. The lunch we had was the best during our week in Saalbach. Great food and great service. We can't think of anything to improve at all!

Simao Alm is in the middle of the Alps. The road to get there is very steep so I recommend not doing it by privet/ rented car. The place is very basic, and include shared rooms toilets, but it's very clean, and very local, providing the perfect local experience. In winter it's ski place in summer time it's great for extreme bike experience, but since the great nature is all around it can provide great hiking experience too. The food is delicious, and the hospitality warm and courteous. We stayed the weekend so we've had the opportunity to eat several traditional dishes with we're all very fresh delicious. I highly recommend this special experience but with the right expectations accommodation to the basic facilities.
