The Flying Italian is a small restaurant near Landau Marktplatz. It is amazing how only two people are able to care for 6 tables in such a small room. The atmosphere was friendly. We had a pizza with parmesan chicks and cheese and a pizza with fresh spinach and both were excellent. Recommended.

This restaurant is run by an extended family that is a mix of Italian, German, and Filipino. The cooks are the Italians. :-) Awesome food and service, very personal touches. Not real fancy but nice and comfortable. Making it a regular stop.

We visited the flying Italians for the second time. The first time it was cold and we had to sit inside, this time it was a very warm evening in August and we could sit outside next to the Markplatz. This has added our appreciation. The insalata mista con olio e aceto was excellent: fresh and truly “mista”. The pizza con spinaci had less than spinach then in December last year, which was a shame, but it still tasted very good, also because of the excellent preparation of the soil. The pizza special was in fact very special with pecorino, kidney beans and salami. An interesting experiment I won't repeat. With 0.25 dl Riesling and an alcohol-free beer we had to pay 34 euros, which is really a very good price. In summer, this family-run and guided place offers good food, excellent service and affordable prices. We will return.

Wonderful warm lunch. Fresh bread and pasta. While very little English was known and even less German, our hosts were quite charming and the food was most excellent. Away from the norm of Brats, Wursts, and Snitzel; A bowl of freshly prepared pasta Marinara nicely presented.This is our second time in this month to have visited the restaurant. Safe to say we will return again soon.
