The Cupping Room (central)

I can’t rate the food because I was so disappointed with the service that I left. I have not been to Hong Kong in years due to COVID, but I had fond memories of the Cupping Room from previous trips. I headed to the Central location, being unsure of which venue I had visited previously. The heat and humidity meant I was hot and sweaty when I arrived, and the young woman behind the register barely registered my presence, other than to grimace. I took a few napkins and a menu and tried to dry off and cool down a bit. When I was ready to order, the same woman took my order. While I was getting my wallet out, she turned to her colleague, looked at me, said something I couldn’t understand and they both laughed. It was at that point that I decided my hard-earned money was not going to contribute to the salaries of people with such incredibly poor service abilities. This experience has been a huge disappointment and has left a bitter taste in my mouth. What was once a place I thought of fondly has been tainted. What a shame.

Ordered a piccolo and a flat white. When I got the coffee if it was in takeaway cup. Which it's fine. Then I tasted it, it's warmed and opened it up it looked like it was poured from left over milk. Didn't even finish it and just left it there. Disappointed.

Bought 2 bags of Colombian coffee bean to take back home as souvenirs from Hong Kong. The female staff was very rude and does not want to explain anything about the beans. Telling me everything is in the package. Haven't tried the beans. So still have to find out whether the beans are worth the poor service.

I went based on 4 star rating. Very disappointing. Upstairs is just very basic wooden tables with wooden stools/chairs. White walls, no decor at all. Mouldy ceiling and coffee splatters on the walls. I ordered an Eggs Benedict, it was meant to come with salmon but as I am vegetarian I asked if they could possibly change the salmon for avocado they informed me this was not possible despite both items having the same add on price. Coffee was cold and no one came to clear table or check in on me during visit. Would not recommend.

Super good food recommend spaghetti with garlic creamy sauce! Coffee so so poor service, cashier and waiter are just terrible, will never comeback to this shop again. Wanchai KT are so much better.
