Restaurant Riva - Laax

Traveling in laax, my girlfriend and I stumbled upon a little restaurant right next to the lake, with a beautiful view .we went inside for a lunch , we ordered some beers and some local dishes. the beer came fast, Frosty and cold! with a plate of carpaccio that was great with the beer.As the dishes started to come to the table we learned what we have ordered, the first dish wasA thick sauce beef with spetzli witch was brilliant ,the second dish was a beautiful cordon bleu filled with great cheese that tasted so good.We had such a great meal !!, the service was great ,fast and pleasant.The prices are pretty much the same any where in the area .We had a great time ,we highly recommend this place if your in the area

As a family with kids we went to the Restaurant Riva al lag two times in July 2015. Both times the bill was not correct - in favor of the restaurant. It seems like tourists are not appreciated and are mistreated. Pros:- good and tasty Gnocchi- close to the Lake of Laax- large icecream selectionCons:- most unfriendly service ever experienced in a restaurant: threatening of kids (sic !) and customers (!) and refusal to reimburse a voucher. Not family-friendly ! Not tourist-friendly. Not suited for kids and foreigners.- had to pay for tap water (5 CHF) - tap water should be free if you consume a lot as a family.- very slow service: 2.5 hours for a "quick lunch". Too few waiters.- restrooms only reachable over long stairs - not suited for small kids or elderly people.- bread was hard- meat was low quality (veal entrecote)- waiter did not inquire about type of meat cooking- the restaurant did not provide enough sauce/sugo, e.g. vitello tonnato (again medium quality)- too expensiveVerdict:- try other very good restaurants in Flims, Laax, use google to find close restaurants in the area Flims, Laax, Falera.
