Wine Libero - Kyoto

From the main road, but the short walk to reach. Fab series of US wines, my personal favorite a Chardonnay by Finger Lakes, NY. It really managed to capture the cream of a French chablis. Great value and owner beautiful. A welcome break from tourist hotspots.

Really nice small wine bar with a large selection. Owner speaks English very well and was very welcoming. Very recommended.

We stayed in Kyoto for 3 nights and we came to wine Libero two nights. We would have come in the third night, but he closes a day of the week. The owner, Shohei is super beautiful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our group enjoyed the wine, food (he makes brilliant pasta). He even made pasta go for us because my husband was unable to join us this evening. It felt like we were at home to enjoy an amazing wine. It is in a very picturesque area of Kyoto. We loved our time there and hope we can return a day.

The owner is nice and speaks very good English. I didn't try any of the food but the wine was decent. However, I wasn't impressed by the wine selection given the price. It's a nice place for casual meetups but I wouldn't make it a destination.
