Bidrage med feedbackQuestion: Can a department store restaurant be pleasant, and serve fresh and hearty fare? If you are in Cologne (Köln ,and you are planing to visit the Dinea self-service restaurant, located at the 3rd floor of the Galeria Kaufhof department store, the answer is yes .The restaurant is very large, but because the individual dining areas are separated by dividers, when you enter (2 entrances ! it does not feel like you step into a university cafeteria. My wife and I like the Dinea layout better than the LeBuffet layout, located at the top floor of the Karstadt department store,a 15 min. walk away, because Dinea has several individual hot food-,salad-,drink- and dessert stations. While the LeBuffet has mostly one large, round station, that at busy times can lead to over-crowding.The main hot table at Dinea offers daily specials. With the usual meat/fish dishes come 2 sides.Signs hanging from the ceiling explain, what will end up on your plate. But the people manning the hot table are flexible, when it comes to mix match the sides. This being Cologne, people just love home-fries.Other stations offer a generous selection of salads (you pay by weight ,pastas and casseroles.Plenty of juices and beers to choose from. And for a department store restaurant, the Dinea has an amazing selection of cakes tortes.Coffee is excellent too.You can pay cash or by credit card, even AMEX and VISA are being accepted.People, who do not want a full meal, can buy a single item, like a bratwurst or a Frikadelle (Hamburger and a bun,and then head for the beer bar, next to the entrance, and order themselves a Kölsch (the local brew ,or two.
Way too expensive for what you get. Went there with 2 more friends ..all together we spent almost €70 , guys just go and get a pizza somewhere else!!
Good self-serviсе restaurant which is situated on third floor of the mall. Dishes are good, prices are on the middle level.
Visitied 1pm 10th January 2014We are spoiled for choice in Cologne. This restaurant is inside a large store on the right as you walk from the station, Kaufhall I think it was and its on the 4th floor.I was so stunned at the design that I walked round for a full 10 minutes. There are a number of areas laid out with cakes and sweet things, soft drinks of quality, salads and salad selections, hot food including specials, warm vegatables.I give it 5 stars because each element had been so carefully thought out concept wise and choise wise AND price wise. The atmosphere is so good that a single person can sit quite relaxed and comfortable and enjoy their meal.So it is a self service buffet style but with class. I noticed the manager was very active and making sure that all was in order. If I see him again I will tell him that this establishment is as near to perfection as I have seen, and I have eaten buffet style in 37 countries. Cant wait to return and bring my other half.
Good place for have a Dinner with family. Quiet place and normal price. There is no table service because it a Self Service.
