Apurba Lal's - Kolkata (Calcutta)

A quaint little restaurant which I have passed by many a times during my walks and outings but had never really thought of eating out here cause i had heard that they served bengali cuisine really well. It felt to me sort of Bhojohori Manna-ish style which i kind of avoid as I love my bengali food just like all other bengali’s do- “mom made “ :P. However, this restaurant changed my thoughts completely! It was my Sister’s baby shower or “saad” , which we call it in bengali where my aunt had ordered a few vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes such as dhokar dalna, shukto and paturi. The delicious food just absolutely changed my entire view about this eatery! It was just marvelous! I would recommend this eatery to every body who loves to try out authentic bengali dishes at a quite low pocket pinch!

Would have given 3.75 if the option were available. Had been to this restaurant on my 18th birthday when my mom refused to come to pleasure since she found it way too crowded and kinda raking low on mom's tidiness altar. And  I gotta admit that the ambiance and the interiors were definitely better than other good restaurants in my locality.We ordered chillichicken, mixed fried rice  , mator panner dipped in date syrup , peas pulaov and icecreams and I must admit that the stewards not only served us at the beginning but thy assisted us second time too!I guess It comes with an attached bar too!Well the price seemed to be strikingly decent as well...!

Chicken main course dishes (Tandoor) were good, did not like mutton dishes. Good location and decor.They do home delivery too. Once we ordered Chilli Chicken it was so so.Advice: Go for Tandoor chicken dishes.

I was starving nd saw a resturent opposite to baranagar police station I guess.... After ordering mutton biriyani I thought how it would be.... Bt I must say the food they served was really nice... Bt they should minimise the time they took to serve... Thats all..

Ordered food from here for lunch today. Though they were late due to some reasons it can be ignored as the food delivered was still hot and nice.Ordered Veg Manchurian and Mix Veg curry. Manchurian tastes good while Mix veg curry was also good. I must say that the quantity that they serve is really good as the food was enough for 2 people and I being alone couldn't finish it alone at once and so had to take a break in between to finish it off :DTheir customer service is also good : a 4 out of 5 for sure.
