The Pheasant - Kirklees

When we usually want pub food, we typically go to a different local Greene King pub. However, due to recent negative reviews online, we decided to give this place a try. It looked nice and cozy from the outside. Upon entering, there was a strong smell coming from the toilets that lingered all the way to our table, which was concerning. The table was a bit sticky, and we were disappointed to see that the menu was smaller than other pubs in the same chain. The prices also seemed higher for some reason. The food was freshly cooked and hot, but the taste was underwhelming. I ordered the fish and chips with a side of bread and butter, but the bread was so stale I couldn't eat it. Some of the cups and glasses were dirty as well. I don't think I'll be coming back here regularly. It's not the worst place I've been to, but with some love and care, it could be a really nice place. It's a shame, really.

We had a great lunch experience at this restaurant. The tables were clean and we appreciated that the cutlery was brought out to us instead of already being on the table. The food was well-cooked and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place!

When I entered the restaurant, I was welcomed by the very friendly staff, Caitlin and Kirky. Caitlin informed me about the selection of cask beers available and I sampled each one. I ordered food, which Kirky prepared, and she checked if I needed anything else. The atmosphere of the restaurant was bright and cheerful, and I would definitely return.

Chantelle and olivia were amazing, nothing too much annoyed. we had a party of work. the service was great, smiling and attentive, eating was fast, hot and tasty. great place to eat and stop drinking. we will be back, thank you

I must say that this must be the best Christmas dinner we had in a few years, the service was not the second, we were not rushed to leave the pauses between eating was perfect. the food was nice, the cheesecake was...for, actually, the whole thing was just perfect. we will be re-elected, the atmosphere was beautiful, all very friendly, and the contrary at the end was such a surprise. many thanks to all those who have made our day.
