Bidrage med feedbackThe day we got more than just a wrap……. Food delicious, tea coffee lovely Staff……. Well……. After spending £25 and eating in, just as we were leaving; the owner decided to ‘tell’ me not ask me if he could, but decided to ‘tell’ me how I should parent and what I did wrong. I have a just 2yr old who was absolutely fine in there (no damages and anything she dropped on the floor I picked up and cleaned the chair too). And a 4 month old. I was meeting my dad who I don’t see very often as we live far apart and wanted to have a nice catch up over a bite to eat with his granddaughters. The owner told me how I should parent, what I should say, what I shouldn’t say or do etc etc etc What I would like this person to know is that you never know what’s going on in someone’s life. And unless you do and you’re very close to them DONT tell them what they should and shouldn’t be doing with their children. You have no idea what’s going on in my life and why I was so close to Kingston hospital and why I was only meeting my dad for a very quick bite to eat. To say mentally I’m struggling with stress and health scares etc etc is an understatement. So your ‘advice’ was very much unwanted/unneeded/uninvited…..! The shop says Sandwich Shop stick to what you’re good at. And unless someone opens up to you, keep your opinions to yourself! I will not be eating here again. I will be telling people and all my clients/family/friends/colleagues about this experience and this man’s parenting advice; just so they know to avoid this place too. Especially women; who it seems he treats terribly from other reviews I’ve read!
As a local I’ve always used this coffee shop (even before the current owner). The old owner was a lovely relaxed guy, service not profit driven. This owner is tight (uptight) and rude. Although the young female staff are friendly, diligent and generous. Please don’t fall for this disguise. His sandwiches are extremely overpriced and the quality is varied. I have had sour chicken on more than one occasion which is never a good sign. He sets his panini grills too high for speed of service, meaning the centres are not melted- not welcome when you are wanting a warm snack on a cold day! He is too tight to serve prawn -replaced instead with crab-sticks. He won’t put sultanas in the coronation chicken because ‘he’ doesn’t like them. He was angry when I asked if was included in the ‘Eat out, help out’ scheme stating I’m a take away- when he has eat in customers. There was an elderly man ahead of me getting eat in who I thought may not have been aware of the scheme and may have benefitted- it was a selfless, reasonable and perfectly innocent question. Asked with perfectly good manners. The next time I visited I ordered a salmon bagel (for just under five quid) and asked the girl if it could be included in the lunch deal, she said no, I said fine and then he came running over, took my bagel out the toaster, threw it in the bin and threw me out the shop- much to the shock of myself and the poor staff member. This owner is so greedy, ruthless and profit driven. He didn’t throw just me out that day. My dad will no longer stop by for a coffee. My partner and his sub- contractors will no longer buy their lunch there. His mum will go elsewhere. I look forward to the ultimate failing of his business so we can get a new owner who cares about loyal customers. If you are looking for a good lunch in the area there is a Sainsbury’s Local at Norbiton Station, plus another sandwich shop there. The other way is Asda. If you’ve got time, the local ‘Norbiton’ pub does fabulous pizza, and finally, just immediately next door is an award winning, superior sushi shop- try their sushi for a healthy and satisfying alternative to a sour mans sandwich!
Needed to eat close to Kingston Hospital as can't go into hospital with patients at the moment and found this place just down the road in a row of shops including an excellent fishmonger, and a local butcher shop. It is a small but immaculate family owned shop which produces freshly made lovely sandwiches with nice sandwich mixes, jacket potatoes and salads to take away, and great coffee. Beats anything else in the local area by a mile.
The manager is unaware of what egg mayonnaise is, which could be excusable if he didn't speak aggressively, especially towards women.
Hello everyone, I was unaware that this sandwich shop is closed on weekends! I visited on a Saturday morning hoping to grab a coffee and one of their delicious made-to-order bacon sandwiches, but to my surprise, they were closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I was shocked. I checked out two other nearby sandwich shops where I usually get my coffee, only to find that they were also closed. Disappointing.
