Bidrage med feedbackI visited this restaurant and found it to be really nice with friendly staff. However, I left feeling hungry. Even though I normally find two courses to be sufficient, I felt that the portions from the Norfolk restaurant week menu were too small. The food was delicious, but there just wasn't enough of it. My fish dish came with only a few mushrooms and two small pieces of Jerusalem artichoke, lacking in substance. I'm unsure of what portion sizes are like on their regular menu. Additionally, there was no clear indication of allergy symbols on the menu and the waitress was unsure of their meanings. She did promise to find out and get back to me.
Finally made it to the Dabbling Duck today, tempted by Norfolk Restaurant Week. 1hr+ journey. Food and service was excellent. Loved the smoked haddock and mussel bisque. Very picturesque pub, inside and out, but our visit was marred by the awful, thumping music. Couldn't really hear the music apart from the heavy bass beat. Felt like there was a piledriver going in a building site next door! Asked waitress if they could turn it off or change it but just got a different version. Somebody has a speaker set up with way too much bass and completely inappropriate for the setting. We both left with headaches. Such a shame as all the food was great
We have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while, so we took advantage of Norfolk Restaurant Week to finally go. The atmosphere was fantastic, warm and cozy with a lively energy. Despite being very busy, the staff did their best to provide great service. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options and great attention to detail. Kudos to the chefs! We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant to others. The location is also lovely.
The Sunday roast at this restaurant was exceptional. I ordered the beef and requested it to be well done, which was no problem. The meal came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, beetroot (a nice surprise), carrot, courgette, and plenty of thick, delicious gravy. The portion size was generous and I still managed to enjoy a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was not overly sweet but hot and tasty. The staff were friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the menu. Make sure to say hello to Maurice. I recommend booking a table and arriving early. The overflow car park could be better marked. Now, it's time for a nap!
We had prep booked for 6pm,on arrival there was no one at reception only a notice saying go to the bar, which was very crowded. Eventually we found a waitress who gave us a table. We were not offered anywhere quieter to sit. The food was good but totally spoilt by the noise. I would not go again.
