Ihop - Kelowna

My mother and I are in town for medical reasons and she had never been to IHOP, so we enjoyed a few different meals over the last 2 weeks. That was until today, when we had a very different and disappointing experience. Our orders came out wrong The server then argued with us and didn't offer a complimentary anything. We were charged FULL price, and both left agreeing that we will NEVER eat at IHOP again. There was no kindness and the food was awful.

This used to be our go to breakfast for our young family but no more. The place is run down, servers are not well groomed, they are understaffed and it’s a long wait for mediocre food.

I've been to IHOP for breakfast many times. Today I went for lunch. I chose the Senior Special Berry Salad. What a total rip off that was! It was a side salad, at best, with a sliver of avocado that I could have eaten in one bite. One strawberry cut into pieces. Do NOT ever order that meal. I probably won't be back. For the same money I could have had a clubhouse sandwich at Denny's. Including coffee. I expect some value for my money!

We enjoyed our brunch. I had a Build your own omelette . Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, the staff was willing to accommodate my food allergies, but unfortunately I found a couple of pieces of the allergen on my plate. One was on top of the omelette, so that was easy to remove, but the other was buried in the omelette. In the end I didn 't have any adverse reaction. If you have a problem with gluten, beware! The menu says they add a bit of pancake mix to their omelettes.

Very nice service, on 2 different occasions we had both servers be very kind and answered all our questions (about gluten free items, of which there are a few!)Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pancakes and waffles, plus a variety of dishes.
