Shirohotaru Kitchen - Karuizawa

The restaurant is small with limited seating, but my husband and I were able to find a cozy spot by the window. It was the perfect place to warm up on a winter day. We enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the pot of bread.

The ganmo burger set was delicious, but we found ourselves still hungry after eating it. We were also disappointed by the excessive use of plastic.

I have dined at this restaurant a few times. The food is tasty and the staff, although they do not speak English, are friendly. The menu has pictures which make it easy to communicate. Prices are fair. Our favorite dish is the burger with potato salad. The portion sizes are not big, but are typical for Japan.

It is located in a corner of Hocchi Ichiba, by a lady of Tofu manufacturer. Very delicious! Definitely a must go when you are around the area and a tofu lover! Especially the Tofu salad was amazing with Wasabi Dressing. Premium Tofu drink, also very creamy and beautiful. Updated by previous rating on 2021-10-04

Was already a few times in this restaurant. eating is delicious. the employees do not speak English, but they are friendly and there are pictures, so it is easy to communicate. the prices are reasonable. we like the burgers with potato salad in them. the parts are not very large, but usual for japan.
