El Delfin - Ixtapan de la Sal

The early dinner here with the family. Great seafood, great taste and many possibilities. The portions are abundant and the prices are good. worth a visit

We went to the public hot tub after a day of soaking! We were hungry and they gave much more food then even possible to eat. The only thing we do not appreciate was the first plate octopus 10 minutes before the fried fish... plate. The other two are between... Kitchen must be organized! Other then this service was good.

My daughters and I went to Taxco to scatter some of my wife's ashes over the city she loved. We made one or two trip a year to the area. One of our side trips was nearly always past the grutas to Ixtapan de la...Sal. We often went to the spa and balnario, but alwasy to El Delfin. A part of the reason for the trip was to help my girls understand their mother's love affair with Mexico and to experience some of what she enjoyed doing. So we went to Ixtapan (about an hour's drive from Taxco) for lunch at El Delfin. It is interesting to find a seafood so far away from the coast. The food is reasonably priced and potions are large. The staff is courteous and forgiving of poor Spanish skills. At least one of the waiters has excellent English. Everything we ever ate there was good, but my favorite is the shrimp empanada.with cheese. They are large, delicious and stuffed full of shrimp. One of my daughters does not like sea food (strange girl). They were very accommodating and made her a queso empannada. She said it was the best thing she ate the entire trip.

Always drive thru that town, keep looking at this nice place. This tie I decided to stop and try it. It was a good decision. Great fish very extra generous portions and low price without sacrifice for quality or taste. Me only 2 wishes: They...had no ceviche and not planning on making it.... and only one type of fish available at least that day.
