Hǎi Xiān Wū - Iwanai

I highly recommend the squid sashimi set (800 yen). They prepare it fresh after you order, so you can enjoy delicious squid sashimi. They also offer a variety of dishes including sea urchin, sweet shrimp, and chirashi sushi. They do not have free Wi-Fi and only accept cash.

Located in the parking lot of Iwanai Michinoeki, at first glance, I was hesitant to enter because it looked like a temporary store (laughs). The meals were reasonably priced, such as the grilled fish (half Hokke) set meal for 800 yen. Since it was a weekday, there were more locals than tourists. Two elderly ladies were managing the place, and I thought it might take a while, but that was not the case. They were efficient. The Hokke was delicious with a nice amount of fat. The miso soup and pickles were generous, and a mini side dish was also included, so I believe the quality of the set meal was high. I couldn't resist adding Iwanai's specialty, tarako, as an extra (it goes well with rice!).
