Kabuki Japanese Irvine

We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday boy picked out this place. It just so happened to be OC restaurant week and they had a special menu as well. We order the special menu items plus ala carte items. The server was excellent, presentation fantastic and food amazing. Delicious! can't wait to go back again.

Food is great. We love the sushi so we come here to celebrate our special occasion. It's just the service was slow... took a long time before server took our orders and get our bill. There were not a lot of customers there at that time. And most of all, no more free edamame??

Our server, Emi, did not manage our dinner very well. Soup and Salad came with our Entrée and everything was delivered at the same time to our table. When we pointed that out she stopped coming by our table. We had to flag down another server to get additional service and our check. I appears some additional training is needed.

Went here with a big group. Had been recommended by one of the participants who was unable to attend. He was the only vegetarian in the group. As far as for meat eaters (meaning fish or other animal protein) it was a very underwhelming experience. The sushi was fairly expensive and not as high of quality as you would expect. There are definitely better sushi bars out there.

Had problem with reservation. Though we hv email confirmation of Open Table reservation, we were not in kabuki 's system. Since it was Saturday, the wait time was about 45 mins. After a lengthy emotional argument with manager, we were seated which took about the same wait time as for those who did not hv a reservation. This is our first time making a kabuki reservation online at open table , very disappointed.
