Iowa Chop House - Iowa City

Best Steaks in town, and priced right. Cold beer and wonderful cocktails and appetizers. We got the mini beef wellingtons for an appetizer and it was delicious. My wife got a delicious salmon sandwich and fresh salad. I had the 12 oz sirloin cooked perfectly medium-rare, and topped with caramelized onions. Highly recommend Chop House for any occasion.

Steaks, sides and app were good. Had filet with crusted horseradish and my partner had the 12 oz sirloin. Crab cakes were decent but could be better. Mushrooms were great. Mac N cheese was decent but seemed to have too much sour creme or something instead of cheese. Atmosphere was decent but a little basic for a chop house . The prices were reasonable though. I would go back again.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Iowa Chophouse tonight, and I must say, the New York strip steak cooked to a perfect medium rare was an absolute delight. The steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The sautéed mushrooms added a delightful earthy richness that paired wonderfully with the steak. The side of mac cheese was creamy and indulgent, and the bacon butter sauce was a savory masterpiece that elevated the entire dish. The combination of flavors and textures made for a truly memorable dining experience. The Iowa Chophouse certainly knows how to deliver a fantastic steak dinner. I'll be looking forward to returning for another culinary adventure soon.

It was loud due to a birthday party, howeverthere was an outside seating area. We were able to enjoy each other and our meal.

My first experience here because I am from out of town but if I ever visited I would go back. Sides are enough for 2 people and drinks are great. When it's night time the outside is a great place to sit and enjoy the outside atmosphere.
