Gumbo Stop Cafe - Huntington

Sweet little place with really good food! I'm not a Cajun food expert in any case, but I loved the gumbo and beef-po boys. only wish they had more space and seats. plan to go back and share this little jewel with my family.

Stopped here on my girlfriend's request. I'm admittedly not a big of Creole food. She ordered Gumbo and Jumbalaya, it wasn't bad. I ordered a sausage appetizer that tasted good, but the plating was not good as it stuck to the bowl lining paper and the plastic knives did not hardly through the sausage casing.

Oh this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Huntington! After living in New Orleans for a bit this place brings me a sense of comfort and nostalgia in every bite if food. Perfect place to get your home cooked real deal Cajun Cuisine.

So today I got the lunch special with a sausage poboy.I always get the lunch special it's about $10 and you gett to choose a sandwhich half and a bowl of jumbo. I really can't beat it. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I'm really picky and I've yet to find a poboy that taste as good as the gumbo. Will keep trying the lunch special until I find that special sandwhich !!!
