Bidrage med feedbackAwesome food and great service. It's on the golf course but you don't have to go golfing to enjoy the bar/ food
After golf, but mostly locals joint. Good food and friendly service. Like everywhere under staffed. A bit clichish .Have to know someone to feel comfortable.
Nothing like hanging out in the club, while eating a club and watching people swing a club
Nice golf club tavern atmosphere. The best was a bowl of chili with everything, jalepenos and cheese. The grilled cheese on rye with tomato came with a side of fries, o-rings xtra charge. The hamburger needed salt and mid-rare cook. Staff was pleasant and enjoyable.
We used to come here more often when my sons would come up from Atlanta but this was before they had kids and other obligations and came more frequently. In those days, we would come down and hit the pro shop and get a couple buckets of balls and go to the driving range. When we were finished, we would hit Arnie's Tavern for Lunch. Arnie's Tavern is part of Birkdale Golf Club which is an Arnold Parmer designed public golf course. It's a little over 7200 yards and while not considered difficult, it does have a lot of water hazards on it. When you walk into the Club House, you go down a hall way with the Pro Shop to the left and Arnie's Tavern on the Right. We went for lunch today. Walked in and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Our hostess was also our server and she was excellent . Very pleasant and the service again was very good including the response from the kitchen staff. Very prompt. I liked the menu and had a hard time choosing from the offerings. Thought about the Bratwurst and then again, there was the Fish and Chips, one of my favorites. In the end, I went with the BLT on Toasted Whole Wheat. One of my childhood favorites and the one sandwich that still consider the ultimate sandwich. For my side I chose Arnie's Fries which is a cross between French Fries and very thick Potato Chips. Excellent choice. My wife had one of the biggest Chef's Salad I have seen in a good while. Filled with meat and other delights although a little short on tomatoes which are hard to get this time of year. Otherwise, another fine lunch item. Nice place for lunch or dinner or for catching a sporting event on one of the big screen TV's. It's often overlooked as a dinning destination because the attention in this area is focused on Birkdale Village with is on the other side on Sam Furr Rd aka NC Hwy 73, Exit 25 on I-77. It's worth taking the time and giving the place a try. Good food, great menu, service is excellent and it quiet enough to actually have a conversation. Good view of the Golf Course but then again, it looks a lot better any other time than winter.
