Bidrage med feedbackI am wondering if this restaurant will ever re-open. Does anyone know? It has been temporarily closed according to the website for a VERY long time.
I drove 30 minutes to buy polish food for my husband and it will be the last time I ever come. Rude. That is the one word to sum up the woman behind the deli counter. She saw me waiting but proceeded to ignore me until my Sister-in-law came up beside me. All of a sudden a girl can get some service, wow. So I go ahead and ask for more details about the different types of Kielbasa such as what is this one stuffed with etc. She ignores my question and just says it's all good. She repeatedly rolled her eyes at me and overall never really helps me. I ask her about the potato pancakes which she constantly pretends not to understand what I am talking about until my Sister-in-law asks the same question. All of a sudden she knows exactly where the mix for it is. I was told later that she is known not to like English speakers but that is no excuse for terrible customer service. Honestly, shame on you, and you are obviously in the wrong line of work. I hope your grandkids are interracial and only speak English. The reason why this isn't a one star is that the man who was working there was very pleasant.
Polish Food! Yum! Really pretty place to take your date that's located near the Spring Branch West/Memorial Area. The AMAZING combo meat platter $31.90] came with: Pierogis Cabbage Rolls Sausage Meat Loaf Baked Pork Chicken Legs This platter for 2 in my opinion could really feed 4 easily. Maybe because we also had an appetizer and complimentary basket of bread garlic butter. My favorite things were the Mushroom Saurkraut Pierogis, Baked Pork, Meat Loaf Cabbage Rolls. Oh yea, their garlic butter is phenomal! Everyone there was extremely friend and service was on point. This really is one of those hidden gems that I'm thankful we stumbled upon on yelp. Next door there is a Polish Food Store, which is stocked with traditional and authentic Polish products. I have yet to actually shop there but plan to soon!
Great neighborhood restaurant located in Spring Branch. I have been wanting to try this place for years, but never got around to it. Don't come starving, because everything is actually made to order. Luckily, I wasn't that hungry when I went, otherwise I might've left. If you're new to Polish food, I would definitely get the combination plate. There is easily enough food for a small table.
This is 100% polish. They even have a polish grocery store adjacent. I think some of the staff and patrons were polish. I bet if you are polish or of polish decent you will dig this place. Everyone else, it is worth a try. Curb appeal is classic modest old building. Inside it is very charming and like something out of a movie, interesting. I am going to try it again but wasn't loving the polish eats on first try. Sometimes this is just figuring a place out. But for my taste, three stars is generous. I ordered the potato cakes and breaded pork chop. Both were deep fried. The flavor tasted like the oil they used was older and I'm from the Deep South where we fry everything. For me, I love breaded pork chop, but I like mine pan sautéed not deep fried. Same on potato cakes and I make em all the time. I think if you are polish or German you might like this place a lot. If you like beer, deep fried pork chops, deep fried potato cakes and sausage you will love it. If you like unique ethnic eateries with cool ambiance you will like it. I am going to go back and expect my rating will improve when I have a stein of brew to go with whatever I eat.
