Bidrage med feedbackI didn't cost the experience at all. it's about her and her menu without any thought on the customers, they don't listen to her, they disregard her and disregard her choice as a customer.
Honfleur has many tourist restaurants and only a handful of authentic places. This is one of the authentic ones great cuisine, welcoming staff, and warm ambiance. It was recommended to us by a local, and the dinner was wonderful, especially the bouillabaisse!
We were really keen to book a table. However on trying to enquire about the menu and to book a table we were met with a very frosty reception....clearly not welcome and felt very dismissed Such a shame!!!
It promised so much. the entree ceviche was inspired, amusing and innovativ! the much luked bouillabaisse was quite normal. an oversized, eastern-enterial dish of seafood delicacies over boiled, to an extravagant price was too much for an average person (without a declaration from the restaurant.) evenly banal, linear in taste and laborious to eat. such a disappointment.
I ordered the turbot that is a deicate white fish. when it arrived, it was unreliable, it was not only cooked in speck, but also by brothcrumbs and as if the putting of bacon on the fish was not enough, they...served it on a cream sauce. how much can a delicate fish naturally go through, he tasted nothing like turbot. I was very polite and sent it back. the server asked me if I wanted something else and I went back, I couldn't. when the bill came, I was charged 38 euro for this terrible escape. that was not a good experience. Perhaps this cook is much better to treat meat that can survive and combine well with speck, cream sauces and the like. the decoration was also a bit cheesy and tries what is not. Maybe it's better if the chef sticks to meat. what told me it was a tourist trap, was the fact that, although I returned the plate practically untouched, I was charged for it. there are so many other great culinary experiences in honfleur that you can easily skip.
