Bidrage med feedbackTop 5 meals of my entire life! The seafood was fresh and beautifully prepared. The service was excellent and the staff were delightful. The restaurant itself is lovely with eccentric decor. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes!
One of the top 2 restaurants in Homer..period!! Amazing food and a must try dining experience.
Wow, what an experience. This very well may have been the best food we had in Homer. We wanted to focus our attention primarily on seafood so we ordered the steamer clams, creole dish and their wonton dumpling special that night. The steamer clams were prepared with a mandarin cream sauce. Infused with the natural clam juices, the sauce was sublime and the clam meat was cooked to perfection. The creole dish reached further heights in that it was filled to the brim with seafood, from crab to scallops and everything in between. Definitely a must order. If your stomach capacity allows, I recommend ordering extra bread to sop up the precious broth. The dumplings were probably my least favorite, perhaps due to my taste buds being completely overwhelmed by that point. The sesame-peanut sauce that was advertised came out a bit too acidic than I would've preferred, especially considering the pickled carrot, radish and cucumber that already served as a palate cleanser. We ended the night with their white chocolate lime cheesecake even though my stomach was bulging by that point. Worth. It. Best of all, we were taken aback by how reasonable the bill was. You owe it to yourself to enjoy the seafood bounty that Homer has to offer, and Cafe Cups might just be the best way to do so.
Come see the front of the restaurant even if you don't eat there. It is a facade with great artistic fantasy that can't help but put a smile on your face. We started with carrot ginger soup that was hearty, tasty, but fell short of the intense flavors that these components are capable of. Next up was pasta primavera with herb butter and a shrimp kabob. The pasta was properly cooked, the portion of vegetables was generous, and the shrimp were nicely cooked and seasoned. The herb butter was hardly detectable however, leaving the dish somewhat bland. Our last dish was the salmon and halibut special. This dish was cooking at the highest level, with beautifully rendered fish, nicely seasoned, accompanied by strands of fennel, and carrot, along with greens that added color and variety to this choice. 5 stars for the special, but four overall. Our waitress was all we could ask for. Service at the highest level. This meal was a nice introduction to the Homer area for us.
By far, best restaurant in Alaska. I have eaten everywhere and in Alaska and abroad and I have decided that Cafe Cups exceeds the expectations of Alaska with the quality of their ingredients, the smiles of customer service, and just delicious food for reasonable prices. I left my wallet there by accident and they mailed it back the very next day without anyway questions other than my address. I love this place and will visit every time I stop by Homer.
