Kawasemi Japanese Tea House - Hobart

Used to love their food as taste was really authentic. Haven’t visited for a while but it seems like their management has been changed. Have been working in hospitality for years and wouldn’t give bad reviews because I truly understand how bad things can go with a bad google review but I was really disappointed with their food and service tonight. A fried dim sim and vege spring roll in a Japanese bento box seems not right. Teriyaki chicken was not well marinated and tasteless. In fact, the chicken is not fresh at all! Food hygiene is one of the concerns for sure. Oden was just few pieces of the cheap frozen balls which you could easily get from Chinese grocery. Tamago didn’t taste right and seems like a burnt flour stick (I couldn’t even find words to describe that) I finished all my food because I spent almost $47 for my meal and didn’t want to waste my money. Could have just walk away without paying because nobody was there to check me out (there was only two customers dining in the restaurant at that moment)and I have been standing at the cashier for quite a while. There should be a bell for customers to ring the waiter if he’s busy in the kitchen. Anyway good luck to them and won’t be back anytime soon.

The salmon was very fresh, the tempura was crispy, loved their sauce which added to the texture of the food！ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wow the food is amazing ! I like the salmon sashimi and it’s very fresh which tastes of the day ! King bento and Barramundi fish is delicious I will definitely come back with my friends. They now open until 10pm on Friday. Large Moonah Car parking is just at the rear entrance Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
