Bidrage med feedbackWe were part of a bus tour that stopped at this restaurant for lunch and to board the cruise to Urquhart Castle and will definitely never be back. The toilets were not clean and we had to wait in a queue on the stairwell for 30 minutes only to be told that they had a very limited menu as one of the chefs was off and there would be a further delay in getting the food. The staff were quite abrupt with the foreign tourists and I felt that the tourists didn’t understand the situation. Most of us were going on the cruise and didn’t have that amount of time to continue waiting therefore had to miss lunch. It is tourism that this hotel, restaurant and gift shop depend on and therefore necessary to make a good impression on all of their customers.
The lamb stovie was mostly dry and heavy on the potatoes and not much else. The salt caramel cake was dry and required lots of water to get it down. The view is great and the staff was very friendly. Looking around at other people’s food, I wasn’t impressed.
We stayed in this hotel during a 2 day stay on Loch Ness and ate in the restaurant both nights. Although the menu was not extensive they offered a good variety of options and everything was delicious. Special thanks to Harriet who served us both nights and worked exceedingly hard to ensure everything was perfect.
Went there doing a trip to loch Ness. Had lunch and it was ok. The food was as expected. The service was fine and the view was great.
We arrived at 1:45 pm hoping to have some food. After choosing our meals, we were abruptly informed at the counter that the chef had decided to close the kitchen due to being too busy and needing a "reset". When I asked if any chips were available, I was told no. We had traveled for an hour and 40 minutes and were quite surprised and disappointed by this decision. I had checked the website before leaving, which clearly stated that food is served all day. This is not what I expected from a hotel located in a well-known area; one would expect it to be fully customer-facing at all times of the day. I would hope that the website would dictate the opening times, rather than a busy chef making that decision.
