Antigua Fonda De La China Poblana

We went to this café because it was close to our hotel and we felt sorry for the tout at the front of the restaurant that gave us a sample of their Poblana Molsauce to try an afternoon. Your Poblana-mole was very good, but... very rich, so we decided to cook fried chicken, salad and chips/rice at dinner. It was all right, but the chicken was overcooked. The smokey brown salsa was excellent and the portions and the price were appropriate.

Really bad, the food was cold and then they just microwave the food and gave it back. Bad service as well. Do not recomen, destroyed my evening!

Had late breakfast here. It was buffet style. Food was good but some a little dry having been on steam table for while. juice was good, fruit selection could have been better. All the sauces were a little on hot side for me, just my...taste. There was not as many true (unusual) Mexican items available and I had there would be like nopales or the corn fungus or even the worms or ants had had elsewhere in Mexico. Coffee good.

Antigua Fonda is a nice, clean little restaurant with a good selection and decent prices that appeals largely to a local clientele and that is conveniently located in El Centro. I think you'll like it and return several times if you spend a few days...in the area.

This place has a certain charm. We were with Mexican locals who translated the menu options. I liked the decor and the open-air vibe with the big front doors open to the street. Make sure that the salad greens could be washed better if they are washed at all. I was worried about finding a tiny, lively **** in the salad. I suddenly lost my appetite and didn't eat it. The pasta court I got was okay, but could have been better. The service was pretty good. It wouldn't be my choice to return here.
