Beach Tree - Kailua Kona

We weren't staying at the resort but they let us come dine there! We just had apps and drinks at the bar with a beautiful view of the sunset.

Did the beach buffet, while I am not generally a buffet fan, it was the best buffet I have ever had, great sashimi, raw bar, grilled octopus, chicken, cowboy ribeye ... It was all great.

Our waiter and service was exactly what you would expect for fine dining. Exceptional!! Food was delicious. We are not strangers to spending money on good food, however this restaurant seemed a little steep price wise. $24 for a Caesar salad was a bit excessive. The only thing that was really cumbersome for us is that it was a long drive and the resort at night has ZERO lightening so we felt like fools trying to find our way in and out.

The view is impeccable. We had cocktails on the beach and listened to the wave and great music. The food on the other hand was a disappointment. The tuna tartare was great, the pizza was good but $41 carbonara was not.

Jerry was so attentive! Melt in your mouth filet. Perfect sunset.
