Small Talk Tearooms - Havering

No bathroom or toilet facilities or anywhere to wash hands before lunch. You would need to leave your table, drinks, food other family diners to find toilets elsewhere in the shopping centre.

Pria to going we looked up the closing times ., their web page said 5 o’clock. 6 of us met at 3 o’clock We ordered our drinks were asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a little longer as we hadn’t had time to look at the menu having not long sat down.. The waitress returned a short time after to take our order, food came out quickly looked very nice, I had jacket with tuna which came with salad. We had to ask for more cutlery as there wasn’t enough given, we also had to ask for mayo etc. shortly after we had finished eating we were told they were closing at 4 o’clock as the manager had just informed the staff !! Somewhat disappointed we paid our bill , at the counter left. Disappointing as we were looking forward to having a coffee cake as this was for our friend’s birthday. This obviously wasn’t to be, as they were closing !! This was our first time here I can honestly say I won’t be returning.

The Tearoom and waitresses seem very nice until there is a problem. My jacket potato was not cooked enough, very hard in the middle. I asked for it to be cooked longer and it came back just reheated. The filling, ham and cheese was just a congealed mess on the top and potato still hard. This was I am sure miscommunication but no one came by to ask if it was ok. They obviously thought I wanted it hotter rather than cooked longer. My daughter’s mushroom omelette was actually cooked plain and then some mushrooms tipped inside. My advice, stick to a sandwich! Will not be rushing back.

We popped in after walking past and looking at the menu outside. One of us had the ploughmans which was good value for money. Crusty thick bread lots of cheese and pickle. I had poached egg on toast which was disappointing as it was pre-cut non-crusty bread and served with salad.

Wouldn't go back they have no toilets ...by law you have to provide toilets if you provide seating areas and drinks ,they need to read the law ,not good for people with weak bladders who would have to leave their food and walk up through shopping mall or outside to market
