The King Johns Tavern - Hartlepool

I was extremely disappointed when I was denied a glass of water for my dog, who is a service dog for epilepsy, at this restaurant in over 20-degree heat. They did not inquire about why my dog was with me and instead stood over me while I was saying goodbye to the people I was with, insisting that the dog leave immediately. It was very disheartening to be made to feel so uncomfortable in this situation.

I typically go elsewhere for fantastic parmos, but after trying the ones from this restaurant, I have been thoroughly impressed. I am now a loyal fan of their parmos and must give compliments to the chef.

Staff very friendly, they work really hard as this place can get really busy. Food is very nice portions are more than enough. Its relaxing and friendly I would definitely go back.

Popped in with the missus for food after New Year’s Day celebrations. We wanted a brekkie to sort a hangover out. We ordered the all day brunch. 16” plate full off food 2 x eggs. Sausage tomato. Chips. Mushrooms. Bacon. Well should be called the belly buster. Two of those with drinks £12. Well worth it

Walked in and went to grab a table. As we walked past every table they looked dirty and sticky. We finally found a table that looked “clean” and sat down and opened the menu. Well I say opened it, we had to peel it open as it was filthy; took a menu from another table and it was exactly the same I couldn’t stay any longer so we left Can’t imagine what else I would have found if we looked, but I don’t imagine it would have taken long if we tried
