Magpie Diner - Harrisonburg

This is a cute little place. It is worth it to note that there is an animal food processing plant nearby that manufactures dog food and processes live poultry if you are sensitive to this kind of thing. I am but I enjoyed my food here and the options to leave meat off my plate. Very hip little place and love the Magpie name!! Parking: Street parking/parallel parking and 2 hour window parking available. Wheelchair accessibility: You can get on the sidewalk in a wheelchair.

Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am. There was a 30 minute wait for a party of 2. That wait was very much worth it (we just walked around downtown while we waited). Servers were friendly and the service was fast considering that the restaurant was full. Restaurant feels very open and inviting, and there is a lot of seating both indoor and outdoor. Do note that they have a different brunch menu on the weekends. I ordered the cinnamon sugar french toast. French toast was delicious. Sweet and fluffy, and with some rich maple syrup to pair with it. The cinnamon sugar glaze was an interesting addition. I wouldn't say it added or detracted from the dish, just that it added a different flavor profile that was much sweeter. My one complaint is that for $12 you only get 2 pieces of french toast, and I left hungry. I will definitely be back during a week day so I can try something from their normal breakfast menu.

I travel a lot and love finding fanrastic and cute spots to eat, particularly breakfast. This place hit all the marks, I realized it opened in 2020 and was not surprised it survived the pandemic. The food was fantastic. The menu looked delicious, but I wanted something simple yet substantial, so I built my own breakfast short stack, 2 over medium eggs, bacon. Was perfectly cooked. The waitstaff was attentive and really chill. I even snagged one of their cute coffee mugs for my apartment! If you're in Harrisonburg, you need to go.

Food was good, just a bit eclectic for breakfast options. Cute building and atmosphere. Parking is not that great! Get there early to park and wait in line. Was a nice experience. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very good food and coffee. Service was friendly and fast. Prices were fair, and the attached bakery provides very good looking pastries. Long wait on a Sunday morning.
