Szechuan Restaurant - Halifax

This restaurant offers both traditional Canadian Chinese dishes and authentic Chinese cuisine. The service is excellent and the staff is happy to explain the dishes. We enjoyed trying the authentic dishes and found the food to be delicious. We were so eager to dig in that we forgot to take photos! Our favorites so far are the Szechuan Pork, Twice Cooked Pork, Veggie Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, and Spring Rolls.

I have never had Chongqing Spicy Chicken as authentic as the one at this restaurant! From the very first bite, I knew this was an amazing place and I will definitely be returning for more of their delicious chicken.

I am not sure why there are negative reviews for this restaurant. It is a small, affordable establishment with minimal staff. It may not offer fine dining services, but the wait for food is likely because they prepare everything from scratch. I ordered some traditional Chinese dishes and the chef and staff were attentive to my preferences. I have lived in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver and have tried Chinese food all over the world. The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were excellent considering the limitations of Chinese ingredients in this part of Canada. The hot and sour soup was the best I have had in years and the meat was well-marinated and tender, both the pork and beef. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

This is the best Chinese food I've ever had!! The prices are fair, the portions are good, and I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to all of my friends!

The service was a bit slow, but the food was worth the wait. I ordered the spicy fish and it was delicious, although I wish the wait time wasn't so long. In general, the food was good.
