Le Bistro By Liz - Halifax

We were unfamiliar with the city and the restaurant offerings so the pick was basically restaurant roulette. We won big with this one. Everything from the ambiance to the meal itself was top shelf and well worth the cost. Don't waste time thinking about it, book your reservation now.

It was my birthday...the big 50. As soon as we walked in we were greeted promptly and taken to our table. I was first taken by the ambience. Tastfully decorated...Paris inspired music....perfect lighting. The waiter was very friendly. The food was delicious...from the appetizer to the dessert. I enjoyed the wine. When I told the waiter it was my birthday he brought the dessert with a candle...I thought this was very thoughtful and a nice touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant....just lovely.

I enjoyed everything about it; the atmosphere, the menu, the quality of the food, the reasonably priced wine list and the service. What a great find! Now my New Years resolution is to try everything on the menu by 2019!

The best restaurant in all of Halifax, food is to die for, ambiance and setting is beautiful. Liz is often there and she is incredibly nice. The live music is always great. If you haven't already , check it out !

Old favourite still pleases! I had been to Le Bistro (as I believe it was known then) some twenty years ago and had been thoroughly pleased with my meal. Subsequent trips to the Halifax region were always too short for a return look and then it closed. Reopened six years ago, this trip enabled that return visit. Having “liked” the property’s Facebook page a few weeks prior, my mouth had been watering ever since, the daily specials making me wish for a permanent and rapid move to Halifax! You can be sure I was extremely happy when I saw that night’s special was to be Prime Rib. Honey and I were meeting a friend who lives in Halifax who, unbeknownst to me, seemed to be regular at the place! All three of us ordered the Prime Rib and were all extremely delighted with the food. I chose to upgrade my house salad to the spinach salad which was also quite delectable. Chocolate-covered profiteroles completed my meal while Honey was the only one to accompany me in dessertland with the ginger bread tower which looked yummy! To conclude, a great meal in great company, and a waitstaff attentive, professional, and quite sympathetic.
