Bidrage med feedbackA really lovely restaurant , with good service and great food! Would definitely recommend if you happen to be in Halifax
Lovely meal with attentive service in modern setting. Located in the Westgate arcade. A tad expensive but worth it.
Visited on a Saturday evening for a pre theatre meal and we were not disappointed. The fillet steak was perfectly cooked and delicious especially with the stem broccoli, chunky chips and peppercorn sauce. It was really busy in the restaurant but the service was good and the staff were lovely. Will certainly be back again.
When it came to changing my babies nappy I found there was no changing facilities downstairs in the toilets. I asked a member of staff and they told me there was no baby changing facilities at the restaurant but I could use the sofas upstairs. When I went upstairs there was a member of staff sat there who did not acknowledge me. The sofa in question were part of the dining area. As there was a stranger there I was not able to change my child privately, nor would I have wanted to change a soiled nappy at a sofa attached to a table for hygiene purposes. I resorted to changing my baby on the floor. From what I could see there are four toilets in the restaurant, amble space to provide one baby changing unit. La luna has also been open a number of years, which would lead me to presume that I am not the first mother needing to change her child at the restaurant. Based on this it seems the lack of facilities is purposeful and discriminatory. Leading to a non-inclusive environment.
I wished to attend the restaurant with a friend to celebrate her birthday but when I asked if we could have a table, a rather rude employee point blank advised that they have a no pram policy and that I should leave my pram outside. No other explanation was given and I refused to stay. I contacted the restaurant and the manager advised that they do have a no pram policy and that I could have chosen to dine in their Al fresco dining facility outside. I have since replied advising that the al fresco dining facility was not open as I had visited Monday lunchtime and that there had been plenty of availability in the main restaurant. I went onto explain that my 4mth old child was not yet old enough to sit unaided and that I was not about to be leaving my pram outside the premises in a busy town centre unsecure. Furthermore their website incorrectly describes themselves as a family run business that encourages family get togethers.. funny that seen as though they are indirectly discriminating against my child. I begged the question of how they would treat a wheelchair user, would they refuse this individual??? I am still waiting a response but I am not leaving it here. I urge families with young children not to attend this so called family run business.
