Al Fico - Grottaferrata

Overrated location. Invited to a wedding I had very positive feed-backs from who had already been there. The location is optimal, on the upper part of Grottaferrata with very suggestive views of the city of Rome. The site is not kept very well, you will notice details that demonstrate a certain skitter like dirty chair covers and roof tiles full of uncultivated weeds. The service is totally to be reviewed; the spouses had given precise indications about the service, specifically the service of the appetizers as soon as the majority of the guests had arrived. We have waited for more than one hour, looking at ourselves puzzled, so that access to the ready buffet has been allowed for a long time. Very various but scarce appetizers in quantity and quality, greasy and hard fried pizzas, just enough fish buffet, of mediocre land. The first, one fish and one meat, were in the norm... without infamy and without praise; the second, octopus on potato cream accompanied by an inevitable vegetable cake. I would have been unlucky with potato cream, salted in an excessive way, but the octopus was really of a very low level, tenacious like rubber and flavoring. The service was also very, but really very, slow and imprecise. I had the feeling that they were also saving on the service of water and wine, centellinati with extreme parsimonia. The sweet chapter also deserves a note; besides the wedding cake there was a definitely dozen buffet with an offer well below fame?!? accompanying the club. Among the long waits arrived at 12.30 at about 7.30 p.m. there is to emphasize the fact that the demand for coffee before the service of desserts has been repeatedly rejected by the waiters except that, at the explicit request of 3 of us, we have been suggested to sneak him from the other bakers in a room adjacent to the main one. Now I wonder, where does the fame, undeserved, of this place come from? An event like a wedding, especially if with a few guests we were a 60 in total, should be managed to the great, with impeccable service and a gastronomic offer of excellence... Things we haven't found here at Fico! Never.

On Saturday, April 2, my daughter married in this beautiful location, run by a lovely hostess, friendly, who gave the right advice to the spouses and who made us feel comfortable. The friendly and helpful staff served tasty and plentiful food not to spend too much time between one reach and the other. We really had a perfect wedding! I highly recommend this restaurant!
