La Terrazza - GROSSETO

We found this place by accident. We were looking for a place to eat away from the tourist circuit and found the Terrazza at the end of a very very bumpy road (tree roots lifting the asphalt). It was well worth it. Every single dish was sensationally well prepared. I didn’t see into the kitchen, but the quality of the dishes suggest a local lady (mamma) at the stove. Home cooking at it’s best. Pasta and Gnocchi homemade! Not even easy to find in Italy if you don’t know where to go. Best Gnocchi I had in years. Light and fluffy as they should be and not rubber-balls which would bounce of the floor. The staff was delightful, reasonably efficient (the Italian way), kept coming to fill the bread basket up with freshly made Pizza Bianca slices and serving only fresh and seasonal dishes. All washed down with a fresh sparkling local white wine. The experience was simple, but divine. More than a restaurant, this is a large dining room filled with families out for the day. The food makes up for the setting. Need to go back there asap and try other dishes. Right on the beach on the first floor with a nice breeze.

Great Food at this turist restaurant next to the ocean. We did try various pizzas as well as the risotto DI mare but given the temperare outside the Beer did taste the best. Price was slightly above average but very neet to eat close to the sea if you have 2 children with you on the trip. Good service and short waiting times, at least when we visited the restaurant.

We had a windy day with s lot of sun a very nice waves. The beach looks good and well maintained having parts with sun beds for rent and free places to install your umbrella.

Cena con amici. La location non è una sorpresa visto che frequento Principina dalla nascita, comunque suggestiva e veramente con il rumore delle onde. Servizio giovane e volenteroso. Antipasti gustosi, i primi piatti medi, la lista dei vini modesta ma adeguata.Se la gestione si impegna non ci vorrà molto per migliorare un buon punto di partenza. Unico aspetto veramente negativo la tovaglia all’americana in materiale plastico, terribile.

Suggestiva posizione con vista sulla spiaggia di Principina. a cena si può ammirare un suggestivo tramonto. la cucina offre piatti di pesce rivisitati che danno un tocco di personalità ma non nascondono il gusto del pesce. per esempio gnocchi di pistacchio e vongole o pansanella di polipo. provare il fritto.
