Hafenraucherei - Greifswald

Do not come at 20.30 (it closes at 21.00), if you do not want to get a meal without choice. Then man told you unpolitly that you have only one type of fish and kartoffelsalat. I understand that he wanted to go home faster. But...finally, he is earning money by our visit. Taking into account that we were not even the last to leave the place. The fish was tasty!

The place is very nice ot seat outside close to the water; the staff (or owner) was not very friendly and the food (fish) was ok but the the best fish ever; price level is good.

Close to the mouth of the Ryck River and just few steps from the Wiecker Historische Klappbrucke (historic drawbridge) you can find this harbour smoke house (Hafenraucherei) with a fish shop and a fish eatery inside. I’d rather not call it a restaurant but a...self service canteen, although it is definitely a place where one can get a very decent fish food – we went there for a dinner and we got delicious fish with tasty potatoes and salad mix. Wine and beer with a usual choice of soft drinks are also in the offer. The atmosphere inside was simply great! We took it for granted that the name of that place “Wie-05” came from the code name of the fisher boat of the owner.

Hier könnt ihr frischen Fisch zu erstaunlich günstigen Preisen essen. Es gibt immer ein Frischfisch-Tagesangebot plus Beilage (Salat, Bratkartoffeln ...). Es gibt die Möglichkeit draußen zu essen. Gute und leckere Portionen zu moderaten Preisen. Eine Empfehlung!

Restaurant ist sicher übertrieben, eher Imbiß mit Selbstbedienung. Ist aber überhaupt nicht schlimm, da das Essen (überwiegend jedenfalls) den Besuch lohnt. Die Einschränkung deshalb, weil ich mir unter "Backfisch" was anderes vorstelle als bretthart panierte Fischstäbchen. Der Wieker Fischteller dagegen erstklassig.
