Chophouse '47 - Greenville

I feel I have reviewed Chophouse 47 before...but don 't see it now. Anyway, this has been our go-to special restaurant. The place we go to celebrate. The food is probably the BEST of anywhere...usually! Service and atmosphere is typically exceptional as well. It wasn 't the case this time. I will start with atmosphere...generally it is quiet enough to be considered romantic. Low conversation is possible. This time, the music was so loud! People trying to talk over the music made it worse. Next up is service. This was the worst service that we have had on any visit here. I get that this is possibly due to the huge Christmas crowd...just not what we are used to at the Chophouse. Lastly...food! As usual, the steaks are the best prepared of anywhere in the world that we have eaten!!. The cheesy potatoes were horrible! It was OBVIOUS that it was powdered potatoes. They were soooo watered down!

The staff was amazing. They are very knowledgeable about the dishes. The preparation, the wine they were awesome.

I have deleted my original review of chophouse which reflected my initial experience as a first time visitor, and created this review which I believe is a true reflection of how this restaurant operates. I want to give Adam (owner/operator), Kenny (our server), and the rest of the staff the credit they deserve for going above and beyond to make sure our opinion was noted and heard. The food is great, the service is great, and I highly recommend for anyone looking for an upscale restaurant within the Greenville area. The lengths at which they went to give us a memorable night spoke volumes, and we look forward to visiting them again in the future. Thank you for a dinner we won’t soon forget.

After having left a rather scathing review due to the restaurant being overbooked for New Years and waiting for over an hour then giving up and leaving...then Adam, Operations Manager, called me a few days later to apologize for the unfortunate evening 's experience. Hoped we would considered coming back at a future date to give them another chance. We will return. Any establishment that goes out of it 's way to smooth the ruffled feathers of good customers deserves to be given another opportunity to make it right. Thank You, Adam!

Came in a 20-minute communication with my brother, and they snore a reservation, no problem! It was the first time to try the Chophouse for both of us. Wow, what can I say... the food was phenomenal, the attitude was beautiful and secluded. I can't believe how good the steak tasted compared to everywhere I enjoyed steaks here in Greenville! One I ate some places here in the Upstate! 5-star experience. If you've never eaten here, don't even ask. You know, it's great!
