Bidrage med feedbackI would give more than 5 stars if I could. Huge portions of incredible food. Lovely setting and impeccable service. Dog friendly in bar area.
On Sunday 19th November we had an afternoon tea baby shower at The Kings Arms in the barn. From start to finish the staff, venue and food was perfection. The wonderful Jade and lovely staff in the barn, made it so easy, stress free and special. Service was super attentive, we never ran out of tea and coffee, and lady behind the bar was so polite and welcoming- she’s such an asset, the food was Devine- with special pink cupcakes, and gorgeous home made sausage rolls as well as sandwiches and scones, which we couldn’t all eat so they packaged it up for us to take home. With twinkly fairy lights and the fire lit, we all left having had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you ladies this is the perfect venue for a small, intimate gathering!
We visited the Kings Arms for a work party and were very impressed by the whole experience. The staff were extremely welcoming, and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was outstanding, both dinner and breakfast. Next time we'll make sure to book the hot tub too!
On the positive side, the restaurant is lovely bright and spacious. We were given a lovely welcome as we arrived. All of the ingredients were excellent quality and perfectly cooked. We were pleased to see that the bacon was unsmoked as this makes it accessible to all. The full English was very plentiful with two slices of bacon. A sausage and black pudding. The tea was strong and hot. What would make it even better: The vegetarian breakfast was nowhere near equivalent to the full English, despite being the same price. It consisted of two vegan sausages and a small amount of spinach in stead of the large amount of meat. The menu clearly says that there will be eggs, not a single egg, field mushrooms, not a single mushroom, and saute potatoes, not a single new potato cut in half. Whilst the quantity of these items is not, in itself a problem, the menu should be accurate. When I tried to give the waitress feedback, the manager(I think) interviewed and said she would arrange for us to have additional eggs. This was lovely but not the point. The coffee was very weak and tepid, it tasted like filter coffee. We drink black coffee and asked if there were any black coffee options, eg, extra shot or cafetiere. We were offered late or capaccino!!! Eventually we ordered black Americano and we're asked again if we wanted milk with it. So to sum up, if you want a meat breakfast, this is great,l. However, as most of our family and regular visitors are vegetarian, we won't be back here for breakfast again. We will, however, look forward to visiting to try the evening selection.
Lovely staff, well thought out menu, high quality produce. Beautiful lobster bisques to start, some of the best red deer we have ever had, I had the chicken in Dijon and Gruyère “indigestion now” but delicious, fab espresso martini, lovely wine choice, dessert was a killer. Would travel again the 1.45hrs trip
