This place is a gem! Amazing food and great hospitality. We dined at Jacque's brasserie and plan to go back on the main restaurant soon. Samy was the best and everyone was friendly. The reviews of this place definitely don’t match my experience in any way. Seriously underwhelming and grossly over priced are how among ways I’d describe this place after leaving. No one who has ever eaten at even a basic bouchon Lyonais would believe this food was anything other than basic at best. Was it French? Maybe. Was it excellent or even great? No. It was okay, but when you take into account the price, that’s not good enough. Also, I’ve never seen a sommelier try to convince a Frenchman that the temperature of the bottle of wine white he ordered was cool enough when it was clearly never chilled. The most memorable part of the experience was a negative one of being told that the warm white wine was intended to be like that because, “not everyone likes white wine cold.” And whose idea was it to use an apostrophe in the name?! It’s yet another proof point that French is just notional chez Jacques. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100+ Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Oysters from Chincoteague, escargot from Burgundy, fresh heirloom tomatoes from the garden. Trout halibut veal Grand Marnier soufflés and a birthday meringue Outstanding service and alcohol and NO rush by the staff which was very well trained!
Come on, it's Chez Francois, one of the finest restaurants in VA. The food and service is outstanding. It's a more limited menu than the full restaurant upstairs, but there is not an item on the menu that isn't outstanding. Don't kid yourself, it's painfully expensive, but you get what you pay for.
