Max's South Seas Hideaway

We had an exceptional experience with our bartender, Jason, at this restaurant. He took great care in making our drinks and ensured that we were always well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for its good drinks and good vibes.

Decided to come here after reading the reviews and I am glad we came. The service was great and the food was great. The wife and I decided to share two meals and that was fun. We ordered the Korean Poutine, and two sushi rolls. The rolls were great but the Korean Poutine was even better.

Disappointed after our first visit to Max’s. The atmosphere was fun and one of a kind set up. The food was okay. The S’mores dessert was the highlight of the night. Service was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Would recommend for the atmosphere experience but that is about it.

The ambiance at this restaurant is incredibly unique, featuring authentic tiki art from a collector who opened the establishment. They were extremely accommodating in fulfilling a specific room request for our group. The food was enjoyable, but I deducted a star as the cocktails I tried all had a strong pineapple flavor. While this may be intentional, I personally found it difficult to fully enjoy the drinks.

The best thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere, which is truly amazing. However, the cocktails here, which are supposed to be a highlight, are lacking in alcohol content, have a uniform taste regardless of the variety ordered, and are mostly ice (especially considering the high prices). Additionally, the waffle fry nachos I ordered were extremely bland and expensive at $17. Our waitress seemed unfriendly, as she never smiled from the moment she first approached our table to our final farewell.
