Beer City Bread - Grand Rapids

Always liked this restaurant but it seems they are all different depending on which location some are better then others as far as size of sandwiches and salads... Also cleanliness...

Whitefish and service were really excellent. Server was one of those guys who was so good i will remember him. He was also super cool about my young children. They have a great parking lot and good prices. The bread and cupcakes were a little dry on Sunday afternoon and I hate margerine so only giving 4 stars, but this is still a recommendation by any means.

Ordered a custom cake in April. Very specific as to the type of cake, filling and frosting we wanted. Gave details on the decoration also. IT WAS ALL WRONG. The order was taken incorrectly (admitted to by the manager, eventually) and their counter staff didn 't know the difference between buttercream and standard frosting, even though buttercream is a choice on their cake menu! Decoration was topped with neon colors when we specifically asked for 'pastel colors ' to be used. IT RUINED A BIRTHDAY CAKE. Had a wonderful birthday cake from Costco (which was a much larger size for the same price) and didn 't have all of the ordering drama. I found out that several other places are making custom cakes for the same price (such as Sandy 's Donuts) so I may try this also. I won 't give Arnie 's any more business. This used to be our gold standard for cakes, and now, it 's completely gone so downhill that I wouldn 't buy a single thing again. If they have changed ownership or management, it shows. It 's sad.

We visited Arnies with our daughter and three grandchildren. The adults all had sandwiches on very tasty homemade bread. They were served with kettle chips. The children had a quesadilla, a hot dog and Mac and Cheese also served with chips. The service was friendly but slow. The prices were reasonable. Extremely reasonable prices, friendly waitstaff, and not usually a long wait time. A lot of meals are large enough to split and you get a free cupcake with every entree.
