Bidrage med feedbackSo close to the centre but hidden away, this place is worth seeking out. So, find St Johns lane which runs sort of parallel to Northgate street. In appearance, this is a basic café, that is , its unpretentious. But there is an expensive menu to cater for a variety of tastes. We chose soup, there were two on offer , both served with a hot roll and soft butter; makes a change from the usual mini brick. Delicious and very keenly priced. We also shared a portion of chips which, with hindsight might have been unnecessary as the soup was filling. These were served very hot. A cup of tea each, £1.50 per person, is hardly extravagant. So, a delightful place to enjoy good food at a very reasonable cost; our bill. £11.90 for two. These are food professionals who also offer good and pleasant service.
If you want a 'no frills ' café then this is ok. Very convenient just off the main street. I had a jacket potato with tuna served with a small salad garnish. Reasonable price and the coffee was nice. Not a very big selection of cakes. Good service
Popped in on the way back to the station arrived 20 mins before they were closing so only had a coffee. Its was clean the drink was fine. The staff were friendly its another of the small Cafes/team rooms Gloucester seems to have up back streets I have not been in a bad one yet. Somewhere worth a visit.
Nipped in here for Tea and cake while walking around Gloucester, it was well worth it, a lovely tea room, service was good quick, the lady serving was friendly and always smiling, a good choice
Hidden down a little lane but worth searching for. Very welcoming with good food at reasonable prices. The owners were also very good tourist guides when we asked about local attractions. A real find
